Bilal Çiloğlu

Bilal Çiloğlu (born June 16, 1998 ) is a Turkish judoka . In 2018 he was third at the European Championships.

Career

In 2015 and 2016, Bilal Çiloğlu fought in the weight class up to 66 kilograms. In 2015 he was European Cadet Champion, fifth in the Cadet World Championships and third in the European Junior Championships. In 2016 he won the Turkish championship in the adult class.

In 2017 he switched to the weight class up to 73 kilograms. At the U21 World Championships he won the silver medal behind Hidayət Heydərov from Azerbaijan. Çiloğlu won bronze at the U23 European Championships in 2017. In April 2018 he was defeated by the Swede Tommy Macias in the quarter-finals of the European Championships in Tel Aviv . With victories in the hope round over the Ukrainian Artem Khomula and the Belarusian Vadzim Shoka , Çiloğlu won a bronze medal. At the 2018 Mediterranean Games, he lost to the Kosovar Akil Gjakova in the final . In October 2018, Bilal Çiloğlu won the U21 World Championships. In June 2019, the European Championships were held as part of the 2019 European Games in Minsk , Çiloğlu was eliminated in the round of 16 against the Israeli Tohar Butbul . Two months later, he finished seventh at the World Championships in Tokyo. In October 2019 he won the Grand Slam in Abu Dhabi .
