Arthur Navez
Arthur Navez (born March 17, 1881 in Antwerp , † May 20, 1931 in Ixelles / Elsene ) was a Belgian genre and still life painter.
Navez studied at the Koninklijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten van Antwerpen and the Académie royale des Beaux-Arts de Bruxelles . From 1900 to 1907 he was a student in Jean-Léon Gérôme's studio in Paris .
He participated in exhibitions in Brussels: Salle Boute (1908), Le Sillon (1908) and Cercle Artistique (1923 and 1926).
During his life he changed the style of his painting several times from Fauvism and Post-Impressionism to precise realism .
