Kind of Torres
Arthur "Art" Torres (* 1946 in Los Angeles ) is an American politician of the Democratic Party .
Life
Torres studied law at the University of California, Santa Cruz . From 1975 to 1982 he was a member of the California State Assembly . He was a Senator in the California Senate from 1983 to 1994 . From 1996 to 2009 Torres was the successor to Bill Press chairman of the Democratic Party in California. He was followed by John Lowell Burton as party chairman in California . In 2009, Torres came out as gay in public. He lives in San Francisco with his life partner Gonzalo Escudero and has two children.
