Artificial intelligence system was a project for distributed computing ( distributed computing ) of the Canadian company Intelligence Realm with the aim of a large computer system with artificial intelligence to create.

To do this, the user's client program BOINC downloaded so-called work units and processed them in the background. Each work unit simulated several 100,000 nerve cells . The client computers were given a month to process the work unit assigned to them. When the workunit was completed, the client program sent the results back to the server . The results were also used commercially to accelerate development. Computers with the Windows , Linux or Mac OS X operating systems could participate in the project. It was also planned to develop applications in cooperation with the graphics processor manufacturers AMD and Nvidia in order to have work units calculated by the graphics processors. CUDA technology, which is directly supported by BOINC (version 6.4.5 or higher), would have been used for the Nvidia GPUs .
