Artillery, data, situation and deployment computer network
The artillery, data, situation and deployment computer network ( ADLER ) is the command and weapon deployment system introduced in 1955 for the artillery troops of the German Federal Armed Forces . ADLER serves u. a. the technical and tactical, cross-weapon system fire control . The improved version "ADLER II" has been in use in the Bundeswehr since 2006.
The system creates a close link between the reconnaissance equipment and weapon systems of the artillery and ensures the exchange of information between the command and information system for the army (FüInfoSys H) and (defined) artillery systems of allied armed forces, the latter via the so-called ASCA interface.
Since "ADLER" connects all artillery units, units and sub-units with each other and enables a low-delay exchange of information of all relevant data, it shortens the artillery reaction times to a great extent and increases the availability of the weapon systems. The command and information system (FüInfoSys) Army was expanded to include the ADLER module. This ensures a uniform connection of all sensors in the artillery system network and fire support .
These services are essentially achieved through the automatic real-time transmission and distribution of all important information in the form of data logs. The system has u. a. Access to all current target and status reports.
