Armed Forces Joint Tactical Fire Support

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Joint armed forces tactical fire support ( STF ) is the joint armed forces (= cross- armed forces ) ability to provide mutual fire support for the tactical level of land , air and naval forces as well as special forces of the Bundeswehr in all dimensions of the operational area.

Mission and ability

STF includes direct fire support for operations at the tactical level and, within the framework of the reconnaissance - leadership - effect network, aims at the coordinated and responsive use of the most suitable national / multinational effective means available in the operational area . Demands for effectiveness grow “from the bottom up” to the level at which a control decision can be made, has active agents and can assign them. For this purpose, STF uses the most suitable forces and resources from the entire spectrum of active agents available. Therefore, STF must be synchronized in or with the joint fire process at the correct level. This is done from brigade level upwards.

The requirements for effectiveness are: locking off , fighting (relatively general expression), lighting , blinding ( artificial fog ), holding down ( keeping under cover for a limited time ), blocking (with the help of fired mine barriers ), disrupting (worrying, hindering actions, if possible damaging ), Surveillance , annihilation (inflicting such losses that the enemy fails to continue the fight), smashing (reducing combat strength so that it is not possible to take part in combat for a limited time or the intention can no longer be carried out) , Destroy (damage an object / facility in such a way that it fails for a long time).

Parts and agents

STF comprises national and multinational educational and active means of:

Coordination elements

Coordination elements at the respective tactical management levels coordinate all requirements with one another. Below the LCC (JFSCC) level, these are:

education
