Florence is located in the North East Wisconsin, the south shore of the border to Michigan forming Brule River . This joins about 5 km northeast of the village with the Michigamme River to form the Menominee River, which flows into Lake Michigan about 100 km southeast . Lake Obere , the largest of the five Great Lakes , is around 100 km to the north.
