Paul Arthur Albert David Samuel Millaud (born January 13, 1844 in Paris - † October 23, 1892 ), also known under the pseudonyms d'Oronte , La Bruyère , Saint-Simon , Paul Hémery , Lafontaine and Baron Grimm , was a French journalist , Writer and playwright .

life and work

Millaud was born the son of the banker Moïse Millaud .

After studying law , he published the poem Fantaisies de jeunesse in 1865 . Under the pseudonym “d'Oronte” he wrote articles in La Gazette de Hollande and La Revue de poche , and later he also wrote for Le Figaro .

In 1872 he wrote his first play, Le Péché véniel . This was followed by Le Péché véniel (1872), Pentus (1873), La Farce de la femme muette and Le Collier d'or (1877), Lili (1882) and Le Fiacre 117 (1891).

Millaud also wrote libretti for operettas, e.g. B. The Kreolin for Jacques Offenbach , 1875 and Mamzelle Nitouche for Hervé , 1883.
