Hervé (composer)
Hervé , actually Louis Auguste Florimond Ronger , (born June 30, 1825 in Houdain near Arras , † November 4, 1892 in Paris ) was a French composer .
Life
Hervé was initially an organist and stage singer before he became Kapellmeister of the Théâtre du Palais-Royal in 1851 . He became the founder of a new French operetta era . Through his Les Folies-Concertantes , a stage theater that he took over in 1854 and for which he wrote several pieces, he became the forerunner of Jacques Offenbach's “ Bouffes-Parisiennes ” and the parody music that flourished in its wake.
