The Artland-Arena is a multifunctional hall in Quakenbrück in Artland . It has a 1,200 m² action area with a total area of 3,137 m². It offers 2,800 seats as well as the option of additional seating in the action area with around 200 seats. If necessary, the hall can also be used without seats.
In addition to sporting events, concerts, musicals and theater performances, trade fairs, balls, markets, exhibitions and other cultural events take place in the hall. From the opening in 2003, by 2015, the arena was the scene of Bundesliga games of the basketball club Artland Dragons .
The hall has seven changing rooms, two restoration areas and a VIP room for around 80 people. Around 1,000 free parking spaces for cars and buses are available in the immediate vicinity of the hall.
Next to the arena there is another sports hall, a tennis hall and an outdoor area with two soccer training fields with floodlights. The indoor swimming pool and the outdoor pool are located directly opposite.
Since the hall was sold out for all Artland Dragons Bundesliga games from the first game in October 2003 to November 2010, an expansion of the hall has been under discussion for a long time. A technical feasibility study was carried out in 2008, according to which the costs for the renovation and expansion to 5,000 seats are estimated at eight million euros. Since then, attempts have been made to initiate funding through the “Tourism Masterplan” project run by the Osnabrücker Land tourism association.
For the 2011 budget, the Artland community decided to install an elevator .
