KK Animation Studio Artland ( Japanese 株式会社 ア ニ メ ー シ ョ ン ス タ ジ オ ・ ア ー ト ラ ン ・ , Kabushiki-gaisha Animēshon Sutajio Ātorando ) is a Japanese animation studio. It was founded in 1978 as YK Artland ( 有限会社 ア ー ト ラ ン ド , Yūgen-gaisha Ātorando ), mostly by former employees of TV Doga and Onishi Pro . The first work was the Saraba Uchū Senkan Yamato - Ai no Senshi-tachi , created under Noboru Ishiguro , a film for the series Uchū Senkan Yamato . It later produced various parts of the macross franchise. Other important employees are Noboru Sugimitsu , Kenichi Imaizumi and Hidenobu Watanabe .

In April 2006 the studio was bought by Marvelous Entertainment and converted into a Japanese public company. In 2010 the animation department was outsourced to the newly founded subsidiary Animation Studio Artland .
