Senran Kagura ( Japanese 閃 乱 カ グ ラ ) is a game franchise from the developer Tamsoft , for which eight games have been released in Japan since 2011. Several manga and an anime series appeared for the franchise . The action and fighting games with Etchi elements are about the battles of the students of a modern ninja academy.
content
The games are always about the students of the Hanzō Academy ( 国立 半 蔵 学院 ). This ninja school was set up by the Japanese government to train fighters who can be used against the ninjas by organizations or individual politicians. The academy only accepts candidates with impeccable conduct.
Opposite this group are the students of the Hiritsu Hebi Joshi Gakuen ( 秘 立 蛇 女子 学園 ), a school that accepts everyone, regardless of their behavior. Accordingly, the school has a bad reputation. Another opponent is the Crimson Squad ( 焔 紅蓮 隊 , Homura Guren-tai), a ninja group that has split off from the Hebi Joshi Gakuen.
Game mechanics
The games of the main series are Beat 'em up , in which the player fights with the young ninja girls of the Hanzo Academy against the respective opponents of the game. The first games were side-scrollers , later 3D side-scrollers. In between there are narrative elements similar to a visual novel . In the course of the game, the player's character acquires new skills and levels up. Also, in the younger titles, it became possible for the player to customize the girls' clothes and looks to suit their own preferences.
Senran Kagura falls out of the mechanics of the series : Bon Appétit! out. In the rhythm game, the player is supposed to lead the characters of the series successfully through a cooking competition. In Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash is third-person shooter , will be performed in which one of the characters through a water gun battle on the beach.
