Ortoq

Ortoq ibn Aksab or Turkish Artuk Bey († 1091 ) was Turkmen governor of Seljuk- ruled Jerusalem from 1086 . The ruling dynasty that originated from him were the Ortoqids . He belonged to the Turkmen Oghuz tribe Döğer .

He was Unterführer under Tutusch I († 1095). When his sons Ridwan of Aleppo and Duqaq of Damascus proved unable to maintain order in Jerusalem, Jerusalem passed to Ortoq's sons Sökmen († 1105) and Ilghazi († 1122).
