Artur Stolz (* 1932 ; † May 22,  2018 ) was a German basketball player .

career

Stolz, who was nicknamed "Atti", started playing basketball in November 1946 at the US Army's youth club, German Youth Activities (GYA), on the grounds of Tempelhof Airport . The team later joined the Neuköllner Sportfreunde club . In 1950, Neukölln proudly became the German youth champion. With the men's team in Neukölln, he belonged to the top German national team in the 1950s and early 1960s and was runner-up as a team captain in 1952, 1953, 1955 and 1963 with Sportfreunde German. In 1962, 1962, 1964 and 1967 he won the North German championship with Neukölln.

In 1951, 1955, 1957 and 1961 Stolz took part in the European championships with the German national team. At the European Championship tournament in Sofia, Bulgaria, in the summer of 1957, he was the second best German thrower with a point average of eight per encounter. In total, he played 54 international matches.
