Artur Aleksander Tarimäe , native Artur Alexander Neumann (* December 25, 1907 . Jul / 7. January  1908 greg. In Tallinn , Governorate of Estonia ; † 27. April 1961 in Tallinn , Estonian SSR ) was an Estonian footballer Baltic German origin. In the 1930s he established his family name.

Life

Artur Tarimäe was born to German Baltic parents in Reval. From the age of thirteen he played football. He later studied at Tallinn Technical University . In 1926, at the age of 18, Tarimäe played his first season in the Estonian Football Championship with Sirius Tallinn . From 1927 to 1932 Tarimäe played at SK Tallinna Sport with which he was Estonian football champion in 1927 , 1929 , 1931 and 1932 . From 1933 he played at Tallinna JK in the first division in Estonia. After relegation in 1936 in the 2nd division. In the same year of descent, Tarimäe fell ill with meningitis that threatened to end his career prematurely. From 1938 he played again and ended his football career a year later.

From 1927 to 1933 Tarimäe also played for the Estonian national football team in 27 international matches . With the national team he took part in the Baltic Cup a total of four times , and won the event in 1931 .

Artur Tarimäe died in 1961 at the age of 53 in his hometown. He is buried in the Rahumäe cemetery in the same district of Tallinn.
