description

The building, located at Fetscherstraße 30 and used as a hotel and restaurant, was built in 1899 by Franz Oskar Hartmann as a three-storey yellow-red brick building in historic forms with a slight Art Nouveau touch. The original name of the hotel was Fürstenhof . It is the defining building on earlier Fürstenplatz mentioned Fetscherplatz .

history

From 1911 to 1990 the hotel was owned by the Radiasch family. During the GDR era from 1949 to 1990, the restaurant was a state-owned business under the name Ostrava . The Czech nationality restaurant was named after the Moravian Silesian town of Ostrava , which has been Dresden's twin town since 1971. From 1992 to 1993 the building was restored and converted into an apartment hotel. Stanislav Kvasnicak headed the kitchen of the nationality restaurant for many years. His family continues the tradition of Bohemian cuisine in the Spitzgrundmühle in Coswig .
