Arun Shourie (born November 2, 1941 in Jalandhar ) is an Indian journalist, author and politician. He worked as an economist at the World Bank , was an advisor to the Planning Commission of India, editor of the Indian Express and the Times of India, and Minister of State and Minister in the Vajpayee government .

biography

Arun Shourie received his PhD in economics from Syracuse University in the United States and worked for the World Bank from 1967 to 1978.

In 1979, Ramnath named Goenka Shourie as editor-in-chief of the Indian Express. He earned a reputation as an intelligent, fearless writer and editor who fought for press freedom, exposed corruption and defended civil liberties.

He also works as a writer. His writings have won him a considerable following.
