Ram Swarup

Ram Swarup ( Hindi : राम स्‍वरूप , Rām Svarup ; born October 12, 1920 in Sonipat , † December 26, 1998 in Delhi ) was an Indian publicist and one of the most important thought leaders of modern Hinduism.

Life

Ram Swarup's works had a great influence on other authors such as B. Sita Ram Goel from. His book "The Word as Revelation" is a study of polytheism . In his work "Hindu view of Christianity and Islam" Swarup defined Islam and Christianity from the perspective of Hinduism and compared the religions.

His work "Understanding Islam through Hadis" was banned in India in 1990/91 in the original English and in the Hindi version. The work consists mainly of excerpts and quotations from the Islamic hadiths .
