Arvo Aaltonen
Arvo Ossian Aaltonen (born December 2, 1889 in Pori ; † June 17, 1949 there ) was a Finnish swimmer who specialized in chest stretches.
Aaltonen was a three-time Olympian between 1912 and 1924. On his debut at the Summer Olympics in Stockholm in 1912, he reached the semi-finals over 200 meters chest as well as 400 meters chest. Eight years later, at the summer games in Antwerp, he won bronze medals over these two routes. For the last time - now 33 years old - he competed at the 1924 Summer Games in Paris, but did not get beyond the 200 meter chest.
His two medals remained the last medals in swimming competitions for Finnish athletes until 1992.
