A doctor's case (also known as a doctor's bag or house call bag ) is a case for transporting basic medical utensils a doctor needs for diagnosis and therapy outside the practice.

The content is not standardized and is populated by every doctor on the basis of personal preferences, specialization and knowledge.

This case usually contains material for administrative tasks such as a prescription pad , instruction slips, slips for prescribing an ambulance trip, writing material, practice stamp, receipt pad and reader for the health insurance card .

It also contains diagnostic material such as a stethoscope , blood pressure monitor , reflex hammer , otoscope , blood glucose meter and test strips for urine diagnostics.

Disposable gloves , bandages , medication , syringes , ampoule cases and possibly urinary catheters are available for therapy .

The doctor's case is used for house calls . Depending on the patient's condition, use can also extend to first aid . The material is not intended for the care of emergency patients; emergency cases , such as B. the emergency doctor's case standardized in DIN 13232 is available.
