As Meninas is a pagoda , axé and samba women band from the Brazilian state of Bahia .
Career
The band was founded in 1999 by the singer Carla Cristina (born May 2, 1977 in Salvador da Bahia ), who left the band in 2002. Carla Cristina began singing in the bars of Salvador da Bahia when she was young and was elected Cantora Revelação do Carnaval de Salvador in 1996. The As Meninas project was created by producer Cícero Menezes, who has already worked successfully with Carlinhos Brown and Timbalada . Her most successful hits included songs like "Xibom Bombom", "Feijão com Arroz", "Samba da Nega Maluca", "Tapa Aqui Descobre Ali" and "Tá Ficando Sério".
