Asano Nagasato ( Japanese 永 里 亜 紗 乃 , Nagasato Asano ; born January 24, 1989 in Atsugi , Kanagawa Prefecture ) is a Japanese soccer player who played for 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam .

She is the sister of the Japanese national soccer player Yuki Nagasato .

Career

The younger sister of Yuki Nagasato made her debut in 2007 for the club NTV Beleza in the Nihon Joshi Soccer League , the top Japanese division. With Beleza, she was league champion in 2007, 2008 and 2010. In the 2012 season Nagasato was the second top scorer in the league with 19 goals. In February 2013 she signed a half-year contract with 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam, where she was supposed to play with her sister, who, however, left the club at the same time.

In 2008 she took part in the World Cup in Chile with the Japanese U-20 national team and reached the quarter-finals with her team. Nagasato was also elected to the All-Star Team. On July 29, 2009 she made her debut in the Japanese senior team , when Japan was able to get a point against Germany with a 0-0 for the first time and she was substituted on five minutes before the end of the game.

In contrast to her sister, who was in the starting line-up on her debut, she was not nominated for either the 2011 World Cup or the 2012 Olympic Games.

However, like her sister Yūki, she was nominated for the 2015 World Cup . While Yūki was used in all seven games, Asano was only substituted for 15 minutes in the last group game against Ecuador , when coach Norio Sasaki spared some regular players.

Because of the injuries on both knees - she had to be operated on on the cartilage - she was rarely used last season. Their contract, which ran until 2017, was terminated in April 2016 by mutual agreement.
