Asasekiryū Tarō ( Japanese 朝 赤龍 太郎 ; born Badartschiin Daschnjam , Mongolian Бадарчийн Дашням ; born August 7, 1981 in Ulaanbaatar , Mongolia ) is a sumo wrestler .
The Mongolian wrestler came to Japan as a teenager in 1997 . After his first professional sumo fights in January 2000, he reached the second highest sumo league, the Jūryo division, in July 2002 . In March 2003 he rose to the Makuuchi Division, the highest league in Japanese professional sumo. In July 2006 he reached the rank of komusubi , which he could not keep due to an injury and poor results. After a strong performance in 2007, he reached back in September the sanyaku -Ränge, this time the rank of sekiwake . After a 3-12 make-koshi in November of the same year, he was immediately relegated to the maegashira ranks.
