AsiaSat 7 (AsiaSat 5S) is a commercial communications satellite owned by the Hong Kong- based company AsiaSat .
It was launched into geostationary orbit from the Baikonur Cosmodrome on November 25, 2011 at 19:10 UTC with a Proton-M / Bris-M launcher .
The three-axis stabilized satellite with 28 C-band -, 17 Ku-band - and a Ka-band - transponders equipped and provided for the position 105.5 ° east from 50 countries in the Middle East, South East and Central Asia with television programs. It serves as a replacement for the AsiaSat 3S satellite launched in 1999 . It was built on the basis of the LS-1300 satellite bus from the US company Space Systems / Loral (SS / L) and has a planned service life of 15 years.
