The Asiatic – Pacific Campaign Medal is an award from the US armed forces . It was created on November 6, 1942 by the Executive Order (9265) and was awarded to soldiers who had served at least 30 days in the Pacific War. According to the criteria, this period was between December 7, 1941 and March 2, 1946; It could be awarded to soldiers of the US Army , the United States Army Air Forces , the US Navy and the US Marine Corps . Fights and campaigns for which the Asiatic – Pacific Campaign Medal could be awarded were u. a. the attack on Pearl Harbor , the Battle of Okinawa, and the Battle of Iwojima . General of the Army Douglas MacArthur was the first soldier to receive the award.
