Aslan Kitowitsch Tchakuschinow , Russian Аслан Китович Тхакушинов , also Aslantscheri Kitowitsch Tchakuschinow (born July 12, 1947 in Ulyap , Adygeja , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian politician and was president from December 13, 2006 to January 12, 2017 Head) of the Russian Republic of Adygeja.

From 1981 to 1990 Tschakuschinow was a member of the Maykop City Council and from 1990 to 1992 a member of the Adygea Regional Council. Between 1992 and 1996 he was a member of the Supreme Council of the Adygea Republic and was the chairman of the Committee on Education, Science, Culture and Youth. In 2001 he was elected deputy of the Adygea City Council of the third convocation, until he rose to head of the Adygea Republic in 2006.

In January 2017, the former Prime Minister Murat Kumpilow initially took over as managing director. He is a member of the United Russia Party , the Academy of Social Sciences and the Academy of Natural Sciences of the Russian Federation .

He was also the long-time rector of the Maikop State Technical University and is president of the Druzhba Maikop football club .
