The FK Druzhba Maikop ( Russian ФК «Дружба» Майкоп ) is a Russian football club from Maykop , the capital of the Russian republic of Adygeja . The club was founded in 1963 and today plays in the 2nd football division , the third highest division in Russia .
history
The club, founded in 1963, played mainly in the Soviet third division during the Soviet Union . Immediately after the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the club started in the newly founded second-highest Russian league . During this time, numerous players from the collapsed Club Dinamo Sukhum were also included, including Ruslan Ajindschal and Gennady Timofejew . The club's greatest success was reaching the semifinals of the Russian Football Cup in 1992.
In 1998 you had to relegate to the third division, where you still play today.
