Asphalt 8: Airborne is a racing game released in 2013. It was developed and published by Gameloft as part of the Asphalt series . It was released on August 22, 2013 for Android and iOS , on November 13, 2013 for Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 , on January 25, 2014 for Blackberry 10 and on April 5, 2014 for Tizen .

    Career

In the game mode "Career" you have to complete races and collect stars. There are nine seasons in this career. A total of 2145 stars can be collected in these nine seasons. To get into the next season, you always have to collect at least a certain number of stars. In addition to the nine seasons, there is an alternating season in which you can collect 100 stars. In the changing season you contest the race with three different vehicles. These change automatically during the race. There's also the McLAREN Legends Season. To unlock this season, you don't need a certain number of stars like in the others, but a McLaren racing car (McLaren M14A, McLaren MP4 / 8, McLaren Mercedes MP4-25, McLaren MP4-31 or 2018 McLaren X2). This season you can get 120 stars.

    Star system

As in Asphalt 6: Adrenaline and Asphalt 7: Heat , Asphalt 8: Airborne also features the five-star system again. You get the first three stars for finishing the race in first or second or third place. The fourth and fifth stars are awarded for completing extra tasks. These are, for example, performing stunts or knocking out opponents. In order to advance in your career you always have to have a certain number of stars to unlock the next level.

    Jumps

In addition to driving, the game focuses mainly on jumps. There are many more ramps in the Asphalt 8: Airborne routes than in its predecessors. In addition to the standard jump, you can also do the corkscrew, a turn around your own axis, and the barrel roll, a sideways somersault, on the ramps. By jumping and performing the various jumps, the nitro bar fills up. By using the nitro you get a speed boost.

    vehicles

There are 259 vehicles in the game, 14 of which are motorcycles. A specific vehicle class (D-Class to S-Class) is assigned to each vehicle. The performance of the vehicle depends on the class.

    stretch

Asphalt 8: Airborne has 20 different locations (Alps, Area 51, Barcelona, China, Dubai, French Guyana, Iceland, London, Moon , Monaco, Munich, Nevada, Patagonia, Rio de Janeiro, the port of San Diego, Sector 8, Transylvania, Tenerife, Tokyo and Venice). Each of these routes has at least one variant with an alternative route.

    control

The controls are similar to those in Asphalt 7: Heat . The player can choose between three controls (screen control, touch to steer, keyboard).

    Screen control

The "screen control" controls automatically accelerate. You control the car by turning a small wheel on the screen. This control can only be used with mobile devices.

    Touch to steer

The “touch to steer” controls automatically accelerate. You control the car by touching the screen on the left (to go left) or right (to go right). This control can only be used with mobile devices.

In the mobile version there is also the "directional control", in which you steer with two arrows on one side of the screen and activate the brake or the "nitro" on the other. There is the setting that the gas is accelerated automatically or that a button has to be pressed manually.

    keyboard

The "keyboard" controls automatically accelerate. You control the car with the keyboard. This control can only be used with PCs.
