Aspire Tower is the name of the tallest skyscraper in Qatar . The tower in ar-Rayyan, west of the capital Doha , was built for the Asian Games in 2006 and has the design of an Olympic torch . The height is 300 meters.

The skyscraper houses u. a. a 17 story hotel with a restaurant and museums. However, parts of the building are not used at all, they have only been glazed. At the top there is also a viewing platform for visitors. The skyscraper always changes its lighting at night.

The lighting takes place via LED technology, which is incorporated into a wire mesh. Furthermore, an LED screen is built into the wire mesh cover of the tower in order to be able to display videos, advertising, still images, etc.

On March 27, 2015, the Aspire Tower hosted the first official stairway world championship.
