Asselborn ( Luxembourgish Aasselbuer ) is a village in the municipality of Wintger , canton of Clervaux in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg .

Asselborn is located on a plateau of the Ösling at an altitude of around 470 m. Neighboring towns are Biwisch and Ulflingen in the north, Sassel in the east, Rümlingen in the south and Weiler in the west. The Asselborn mill, located in the valley of the Tretterbach, belongs to the village.
History and general
There was an important post office in Asselborn, which was first mentioned in 1563. Biwisch belonged to the Asselborn community until 1925, but was then reassigned to Ulflingen. On January 1, 1978 the community of Asselborn was dissolved and incorporated into Wintger. On the ecclesiastical side, Asselborn was an independent parish until May 7, 2017 , but was then merged with the other parishes of the Wintger community to form the large parish of the Holy Family Wintger.
Worth seeing are the Cath. Church of St. Peter and Paul, the old post office and the water tower .
