Assembly of the Poor
The Assembly of the Poor ( English for "Assembly of the Poor", abbreviated AOP ) is an NGO in Thailand that represents the interests of the poor. Its aim is to involve the poorly placed people in Thailand in the process of economic development in Thailand so that they too have the opportunity to benefit from it.
General
The AOP was founded on December 10th ( Human Rights Day ) 1995; four days later, a declaration was passed against the controversial Pak Mun dam on the Mae Nam Mun (Mun River) .
By organizing demonstrations, discussion forums, etc., the AOP advocates greater consideration of the interests of marginalized sections of the population and a high priority in combating poverty. She is a member of Via Campesina .
The women's group of the AOP ( Women's Group of the Assembly of the Poor ) was among the nominees for the 1000 women project for the 2005 Nobel Peace Prize .

- Network of those affected by unsafe and unhealthy working conditions
- Network of slum dwellers
- Network of those affected by forest management policy
- Network of those affected by land management policy
- Local fishing network
- Alternative farming network.
