Assunção is a place and a former municipality ( Freguesia ) in the Portuguese district of Elvas . The community had 8,717 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
On September 29, 2013 the parishes of Assunção and Ajuda, Salvador e Santo Ildefonso were merged to form the new parish of Assunção, Ajuda, Salvador e Santo Ildefonso .
