Astakos (Thebans)
Astakos ( Greek Ἄστακος ) is a Theban warrior in Greek mythology , whose four sons Ismaros , Leades , Melanippos and Amphidikos distinguished themselves as brave defenders of the city against the seven against Thebes . Melanippus killed Mekisteus and mortally wounded Tydeus , but was then slain by the latter.
After Memnon of Herakleia , Astakos is one of the divisions and eponymous heroes of the city of Astakos in Bithynia, which was named after him because of an oracle. With Stephanos of Byzantium , the eponymous founder of the city is a son of Zeus and the nymph Olbia .
