The Astartehorn is a pyramid-shaped and about 1400 m high mountain peak in the eastern part of the Antarctic Alexander I Island . It rises at the southern end of a ridge with north-south orientation, which starts from Mount Umbriel .
The mountain was mapped using Trimetrogon aerial photographs of the American Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (1947–1948) and measurements by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey between 1948 and 1950. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it based on the name of Venus -Glacier to Astarte , the Phoenician goddess of love.
