At-Tall ( Arabic التل, DMG at-Tall 'the hill'; also Al-Tall , Al Tall or Al Tal ) is a city in the Rif Dimashq governorate in southern Syria . It is the capital of the administrative unit of the same name at-Tall and has about 44,597 inhabitants (2004 census). The majority of the residents are Sunnis .
The city is located north of Damascus in the Anti-Lebanon Mountains at an altitude of 1000 meters.
In 1981 the city had 18,198 residents.
