Atanatos is a thrash metal band that was founded in Jena , Germany in late 1993 .

history

Atanatos was founded in 1993 under the name Anus Praeter. They were quickly able to achieve regional success and after a short time they were able to expand their level of awareness nationwide. After releasing two demo tapes, several labels showed interest. Ultimately, the band signed a contract with Last Episode . After the second album was released in 1999, no one heard from Atanatos for a long time. During this time they toured with many well-known bands such as Sodom , Disbelief , Ektomorf , Die Apokalyptischen Reiter and Eisregen . They also played at major festivals such as Party.San , Metal To The Metals and From Beyond. Her activities have received positive reviews in newspapers such as Rock Hard , Metal Hammer, and Sonic Seducer . In 2002 Atanatos separated from their label Last Episode and took a creative break for several years. During this time, the third album Beast Awakening was produced in-house . In early 2006 the band signed a contract with the Metal Ax Records label .
