Athanassios Kaissis

Athanassios Kaissis (born March 17, 1947 in Langadas ) is a Greek law scholar and former professor at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki .

Life

Kaissis studied law in Thessaloniki from 1965 . After graduating in 1970, he did his military service and initially worked as a lawyer at the Areopagus , the highest Greek court. In 1972 he moved to Germany, where he studied as part of a postgraduate course at Heidelberg University . From 1974 he worked there as a research assistant for Hilmar Fenge . Under his supervision, Kaissis completed his doctorate in 1978. iur. from. He then returned to Greece, where he again worked as a lawyer and lectured at the University of Thessaloniki. He was later appointed full professor of civil law, civil procedural law and labor law there. After his retirement in 2012, he was a member of the Governing Board of the International Hellenic University in Thessaloniki , which was founded in 2005 , where he is the academic director of two master’s programs.
