Athena protects the young hero ; Schloßbrücke in Berlin

The Athena protects the young hero is a sculpture by Gustav Bläser (1813-1874) from 1854, which on the castle bridge in Berlin-Mitte was installed.

During the Second World War , the eight sculptures were stored on the Schloßbrücke and then ended up in West Berlin territory. In March 1981, on the initiative of the (West Berlin) Governing Mayor Hans-Jochen Vogel, the sculptures were handed over to the GDR , as an exchange the archive of the Royal Porcelain Manufactory was transferred from the GDR to West Berlin.
