Architecture and history

The two-storey building was built as a gardener's house in 1882 in half-timbered construction . The house was built by the master mason Jul. Kohtz for the client, the economist Pfannenschmidt. The framework is a simple construction made of bars and stands and has St. Andrew's crosses . The compartments are lined with bricks and plastered. Cornices with slightly protruding beam heads are located between the floors of the house . Both the upper and the attic storey protrude slightly. The building is also covered by a gable roof , albeit stronger .

The house was built in the 2nd fortress paleon of Magdeburg Fortress as a so-called rayon house , which could be put down quickly in the event of a necessary defense in order to create a free field of fire for the fortress.

In the local register of monuments , the house is listed as a monument under registration number 094 70823 .
