Athenodorus Cordylion
Athenodoros Kordylion ( Greek Αθηνόδωρος Κορδυλίων Athēnódōros Kordylíōn ; * in the first half of the 1st century BC in Tarsus ) was a Greek philosopher and follower of the Stoa . As the custodian of the library of Pergamon, it is known through Athenodorus that he removed some passages from books that he did not like. He was best known through the Roman politician Cato the Younger , who lived in 67 or 66 BC. Studied with him in Pergamon . Athenodoros Kordylion followed Cato to Rome, where he lived in his house until his death.
