Outline of the history of philosophy
The Outline of the History of Philosophy is a standard work in the history of philosophy . It was edited in 1862 by the Königsberg philosophy professor Friedrich Ueberweg at the instigation and according to the design and plan of the publisher Theodor Toeche-Mittler in the publishing house ES Mittler und Sohn . The floor plan was adapted after the death Ueberweg by a number of other authors on the state of research and finally completely revised.
From 1863 to 1927, ES Mittler und Sohn published a total of 12 editions in Leipzig . After Schwabe Verlag in Basel had acquired the publishing rights in 1955, reprints of the last edition were first published, which were also taken over under license by the Wissenschaftliche Buchgesellschaft in Darmstadt . The revision planned at that time has only appeared since 1983.
The Historical Dictionary of Philosophy , published by the same publisher from 1971 to 2007, is the alphabetically ordered counterpart to the systematically laid out floor plan .
