The Atherton Peak is a turn 500  m high mountain near the north coast of South Georgia . It rises east of Fortuna Bay and north-northwest of Harper Peak .

Scientists from the British Discovery Investigations mapped it between 1929 and 1930. It is named after Noel Atherton (1899–1987), then a cartographer in the United Kingdom Hydrographic Office and later head hydrograph of this institution between 1951 and 1952.
