Athlete spokesman
Athlete spokesman (also: active spokesman ) is the spokesman for the members of a national team in sport . He represents the concerns of the athletes towards the association and the public. In contrast to the team captain in game sports, he has no direct function during the competition.
In Germany, the athletes' spokesman is determined annually by the members of the squad for the individual sports in a secret ballot. He often has a seat on the association's committee that decides on nomination issues. The athletes 'spokesmen for all professional associations in the DOSB are organized in the "Athletes' Commission", which advises the top of the association. The IOC also has its own body for athlete representatives.
