Atlético Monzón is a Spanish football club from Monzón , a city in the province of Huesca . It was founded in 1950.
history
The club was founded in 1922 as Football Club Monzón and was initially red and blue. In 1927 the club was renamed Club Deportivo Monzón . After a dispute with the association, the club withdrew from the current game operations, but was re-established in 1950 under the name Club Atlético de Monzón , which still exists today . The club played its first game with the new name on September 17, 1950. In the 1956/57 season, the first promotion to the Tercera División Nacional , the third division, was celebrated. In the 2008/09 season, the club was Aragonese champions under coach Miguel Rubio . Atlético Monzón are unofficially the second team for Real Zaragoza .
