Atsushi Shirai ( Japanese 白 井 淳 , Shirai Atsushi ; born April 18, 1966 in Kumamoto Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .

Career

Shirai learned to play football in the school team of Settsu High School and the university team of Sangyō University of Kyoto . He signed his first contract with Tanabe Pharmaceutical SC in 1991 . The club played in the second highest league in the country, the Japan Soccer League Division 2. For the club, he completed 48 games. In 1991 he moved to the first division club Toshiba (Consadole Sapporo). For the club he completed 33 games. In 1994 he moved to the first division club Gamba Osaka , then in 1996 to the second division club Consadole Sapporo . For the club he completed 19 games. In 1997 he moved to the first division team JEF United Ichihara . In 1998 he reached the final of the J.League Cup . For the club he completed 19 first division games. In 1999 he moved to the second division Ōmiya Ardija . For the club he completed 113 games. At the end of 2002 he ended his career as a football player.
