Attila Zsivoczky

Attila Zsivoczky [ ˈɒtilːɒ ˈʒivoːʦki ] (born April 29, 1977 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian athlete .

Life

Zsivoczky is the son of Olympic hammer throw winner Gyula Zsivótzky and high jumper Magdolna Csábi-Komka . He is married to the heptathlete Györgyi Farkas .

Zsivoczky achieved his first successes as a decathlete in 1996 when he became Junior World Champion in Sydney . In 1999 in Seville he took part in the athletics world championships for the first time and achieved tenth place. Two years later he was at the World Championships in Edmonton on rank 4. At the 2000 Olympics in Sydney was Zsivoczky eighth, 2004 in Athens, he was sixth and 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, he went after the first discipline, the 100 Meters , no longer on.

The first major success of his career was at the World Championships in Helsinki in 2005 , when he won the bronze medal with a performance of 8385 points. In 2006, 8356 points were enough for him to win the silver medal at the European Championships in Gothenburg .

Zsivoczky's personal best in the decathlon is 8554 points, established at the Götzis International All-Around Meeting on June 4, 2000.
