This is a list of cities in Kuwait .
By far the largest agglomeration in the state of Kuwait is Kuwait City with a population of 2,388,688 (as of January 1, 2005). This means that 94 percent of the country's people live in the capital region. The largest city in Kuwait is Jalib al-Shuyuch with 179,264 inhabitants. The capital is the 18th largest city in the country with 32,403 inhabitants.
The following table contains the cities with more than 20,000 inhabitants, their names in German transcription and in Arabic, the results of the census of April 20, 1995 and April 20, 2005. The government to which the city belongs is also listed. The population figures refer to the city or municipality within its political boundaries, without politically independent suburbs.
