The Mubarak al-Kabir Governorate ( Arabic محافظة مبارك الكبير, DMG Muḥāfaẓat Mubārak al-Kabīr ) is one of the six governorates of Kuwait . It has about 270,000 inhabitants, making it the smallest of the Kuwait governorates. It is located in the eastern part of the country and consists mostly of residential areas. It originated in 2000 when the Hawalli Governorate was divided into two parts.
