The Foreign Trade Regulation (AWV) is the regulation for the implementation of the German Foreign Trade Act . It contains the approval, procedural and reporting regulations as well as the associated penal and administrative fines. It first came into force in 1961.

structure

The foreign trade regulation is divided into ten chapters:

  • Chapter 1: General Regulations
  • Chapter 2: Domestic export and shipment
  • Chapter 3: Import
  • Chapter 4: Other freight transport
  • Chapter 5: Trade in Services
  • Chapter 6: Restrictions on Movement of Capital
  • Chapter 7: Reporting requirements in capital and payment transactions
  • Chapter 8: Restrictions on Certain Countries and Individuals
  • Chapter 9: Crimes and Administrative Offenses
  • Chapter 10: Entry into Force

Export control

The foreign trade regulation, together with the European dual-use regulation and the so-called EU anti-terrorism regulations, regulate German export controls . The export list published as an annex to the Foreign Trade and Payments Ordinance lists all goods (goods, data processing programs (software) and technologies) whose export must be approved or prohibited by the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA).
