Achim Leschinsky

Achim Leschinsky (born April 8, 1944 in Mühlhausen / Thuringia ; † April 24, 2011 ) was a German educationalist and professor at the Humboldt University in Berlin .

life and work

From 1963 to 1970 he studied medicine, history, classical philology, sociology and educational science in Bonn, Berlin and Hamburg up to the state examination for higher teaching qualifications. In 1976 he received his doctorate in philosophy at the University of Hamburg, and the 1983 habilitation in educational science at the Free University of Berlin. 1973–1992 he worked as a research assistant and project manager at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development in the research area “Schools and Teaching” under Peter M. Roeder , in 1992 he became professor for school theory and school research at the Humboldt University in Berlin.

His research and work focus were school theory, the history of education and educational research , as well as teaching and teaching values in schools. Supervised projects were:

  • "On the effectiveness of the in-school agreement of pedagogical goals as an instrument for quality development of school and teaching" for the Brandenburg BLK model program element "School independence: extended responsibility and quality assurance - qualification of schools and school supervision for their new tasks (SeSuS)" (together with Sabine Gruehn)
  • Scientific support for the further development of the subject “ Lifestyle-Ethics-Religious Studies ” in Brandenburg (1996–2000); In this context, management (together with Sabine Gruehn) of an empirical study on the practice and effect of teaching in the learning area "Lifestyle - Ethics - Religious Studies" in Brandenburg (1998–2000)

Until his retirement in 2009, Leschinsky held the chair for school theory at the Institute for Educational Sciences at the Humboldt University in Berlin. He died on April 24, 2011 after suffering from multiple sclerosis for over thirty years .
